Jacqueline Fernandez is a Sri Lankan actress from Manama, Bahrain and was raised in a multi-ethnic family. Her father Elroy is from Sri Lanka (Catholic Sinhalese) and her mother, Kim is Malaysian. Jacqueline is the youngest of two siblings and has an older brother. Because of the turmoil in Sri Lanka, her family were forced to relocate to Bahrain in the late 1980s. Schooling was finished within Bahrain and she won an Scholarship to an education at University of Sydney. There she graduated with a Media and Communications degree. With a love of cultures and languages she also joined the Berlitz school of languages, which is where she began to learn Spanish and improve her French as well as Arabic. Miss Sri Lanka 2006 competed in Miss Universe 2006 as well as Miss Universe 2006 when she took home the title in 2006. The TV show she appeared on was founded after winning an award for the Miss Sri Lanka title. Her program, Lanka Business Report, is about Sri Lankan business. Padukone was the daughter of badminton world champion Prakash Padukone. Padukone grew up in Bangalore however, she is a native of Copenhagen. When she was a teen, Padukone was a participant in numerous National badminton competitions. She eventually gave up her passion for the game when she decided to pursue a career as a professional model. Padukone's mother tongue is Konkani. She is Mangalorean from her birthplace. Her ancestors come from the town of Padukone located in Kundapura Taluk, in the Udupi district of Karnataka state in India. Her father, Prakash Padukone, is a retired badminton player of international repute, and her mother is a travel consultant.
